Pubs in Peckham

South of the river in Southwark, Peckham has shed its rougher reputation to become one of London's more creative quarters, drawing artists, musicians and a younger crowd priced out of areas further north. The high street still has its traditional market and chicken shops, but side streets now harbour independent galleries, cafés and late-night bars, particularly around the converted industrial spaces near Peckham Rye station. It suits exploratory evenings rather than polished nights out, with a relaxed, slightly scruffy charm.

The Victoria Inn offers a more traditional option with live music, fish and chips and Sunday roasts, while The Duke of Sussex SE15 pitches somewhere in between with cocktails, steaks and a modern pub feel.
