Seasonal food made for sharing

The menu changes daily and follows the best produce available, from Salt Marsh lamb and Tamworth pork to Mersea Island sea bass. There’s house-made charcuterie, fresh bread baked in-house and larger feasting menus built around dishes such as seven-hour braised lamb shoulder, beef shin bourguignon and oxtail goulash.

Cask ales, cocktails and curious bottles

The Canton keeps a selection of real ales alongside lagers, craft beer and cider, with casks carefully looked after in its beer cellar. The wine list focuses on organic and low-intervention bottles, while the cocktail list covers classics and seasonal drinks, including the pub’s homemade vin d’orange.
