Big plates and a snug upstairs

The menu runs from Defector’s Chip Shop and chicken and leek pie to steak, burgers, Sunday roast and smoked ox cheek doughnuts. Buffalo Trace BBQ wings, fried chicken and sharing boards bring the bigger flavours, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available. Upstairs, Philby’s can host private parties, while DJs, quizzes and karaoke add to the regular schedule.

A covered courtyard for long sessions

The industrial-style courtyard is covered, with space for pints, cocktails and plates from the kitchen. The bar also covers craft beer, ales, wine, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks, with dogs welcome too. On Friday and Saturday, the pub stays open until 2am.
