The bar

A historic Charlotte Street meeting place

The Fitzroy Tavern began as a coffee house and became a pub by the mid-19th century, later lending its name to Fitzrovia. Its traditional furnishings and restored interiors suit a quiet pint, a glass of wine or a longer catch-up. All beers are brewed by Samuel Smith’s at the Old Brewery in Tadcaster, with Old Brewery Bitter served from oak casks in the cellar.

The kitchen

British pub classics, from fish and chips to steak

Food runs from small plates such as Scotch eggs, fish cakes and wings to mains including beer-battered fish and chips, steak bavette, chicken supreme and a steak-and-bone-marrow burger. There are also lighter and vegetarian or vegan choices, plus sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie. Food is ordered at the bar, and the pub offers a private dining and party space for gatherings.
