New Bristol Brewery’s taproom on Wilson Street serves modern beers brewed in Bristol, from session IPAs and lagers to stouts, sours and double IPAs. It opens Thursday to Saturday, with quiz nights and vinyl DJs on the calendar.

The beer list ranges from The Joy Of Sesh session IPA and Bristol Lager to pale ales, sours and richer pours such as Cinder Toffee Stout. The taproom is a little off the beaten track, but reviewers say the walk from the city centre is worth it. Food is available from nearby vendors on some visits.

Thursday brings a quiz from 7.30pm, with teams of up to six competing for craft beer prizes and no entry fee. Fridays are given over to vinyl DJs, while the spacious layout also suits larger groups and live events.
