There are two traditional bars, a welcoming local feel and screens covering the big sporting fixtures. The menu runs from pie and mash, burgers, fish and chips and steak to sandwiches, wings and vegetarian dishes, with gluten-free options available.

Head upstairs for rooftop pizza and cocktails

The covered rooftop terrace gives The Alex an extra room above the pub, with pizza served in the Loft alongside cocktails and wine. Weekend DJs add to the terrace atmosphere, while Sunday brings roast dinners with crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, seasonal vegetables and plenty of gravy.
