The Apple is a converted Dutch barge moored on Bristol’s Welsh Back, with two floors of bar space and outdoor seating on the cobbled quayside. It is known for farmhouse ciders, with dogs welcome and room for bigger groups.

A boat built around proper cider
The Apple serves draught farmhouse ciders, with around 40 to choose from and a menu arranged from sweet to dry. Look out for the strong Old Bristolian, alongside fruit ciders such as rhubarb and elderflower.
Outside
Drinks spill onto the quayside
Bench seating sits beside the moored barge on the cobblestones, with views towards the river and outdoor food service nearby. On sunny days and busy weekends, the crowd can spread out from the boat onto the quayside.
