The Volunteer Tavern is a 17th-century, wood-panelled pub on New Street, with real ales, global dishes and a colourful beer garden. Expect live music, cocktails, friendly dogs and the resident Volly cats, Topys and Tipsy.

Wood panelling and plenty of unusual seating spaces give the pub its traditional feel, while string lights, plants and a community-minded atmosphere keep it welcoming. There’s live music, cocktails, wine and a programme of events, with table booking and disabled access available.

The beer garden brings together generous seating, growing plants, lights and outdoor heaters, with food service available outside. It’s dog friendly, and the pub’s own Volly beer is made in a container beside the pub.
