Red velour banquettes, a fireplace and black-and-white film photographs set the tone in the main bar. A snug sits to one side, while the rear bar has a pool table, dartboard and its own screen.

A local shaped by pub history
The present pub dates from the late 1930s, replacing an earlier tavern built in 1856. Its name refers to the nearby Licensed Victuallers’ Asylum, established as a home for elderly and retired publicans.
