A former lecture hall with a story to tell

The building opened as a lecture hall on 21 June 1911, the day before the coronation of King George V, and was named in his honour. It later became a cinema and then a bingo hall. Historical pictures and literature around the pub add context to the space.

The menu covers familiar pub food, including burgers, fish and chips, wings, pizza and chips, with vegetarian and non-alcoholic options available. At the bar, you’ll find draught beer, real ale, craft ales, wine and cocktails. TV screens make it a practical stop for watching sport.
