Dark wood, good food and a full calendar

The traditional interior has cosy nooks and candlelit tables, while the bar serves beers, ales, wines, cocktails and spirits. Food runs from stackable burgers and chips to sandwiches, steak, pie, wings and seasonal dishes, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. There is also a pub quiz, open mic night and regular sports screenings.

The garden

A leafy place for roasts and spritzes

The large beer garden sits behind the pub, with trees and outdoor seating for sunny lunches, pints and 2-for-£15 spritzes. Sundays bring classic roasts with golden roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and plenty of gravy. Dogs are welcome, and the garden is handy for groups as well as quieter drinks.
